With an already stunning view to the water, this new home and swimming pool needed a complementary garden design comprised of a lush, grandchildren friendly couch lawn for relaxing and private formal garden space for flowers and herbs.
The challenge was to create an impactful garden which allowed the natural beauty of the setting to remain the centrepiece.
Our solution: A lush subtropical style which makes use of frangipanis and magnolia little gems screen plantings to increase privacy and a selection of garden plants which complement the clean lines that dominate the building, including Gardenias, Sweet Virburnum, Chinese Elm, Slender Palm Lily, Silver Spur Flower, Tricolor Jasmine and Slender Weaver’s Bamboo.
In-ground storm water tanks were installed to run the drip irrigation system to the garden and exterior taps, as well as supply part of the bathroom and laundry water needs – and of course the expansive couch lawn which had been installed.
The garden was framed with a contemporary landscape of sandstone walling, limestone paving, stepping stones with gravel mulch and nepean pebbles and a stack-stone feature wall.
We also built a small deck around the pool for sitting or diving which ensured it would be enjoyed equally as much by the grandchildren.
The end result is a flexible space centred around the already beautiful home and vista.
