This beautiful heritage home was undergoing substantial renovations – and the garden was being impacted accordingly. We were asked to create a fitting new entrance and garden that matched the home’s nature and maintained some of its more charming elements, such as the intimate seating areas from the old space.
We designed a beautiful new entry path of sawn sandstone paving, with a prominent water feature providing a classic finish. This was framed with feature lawns and new gardens containing a selection of Mediterranean style plants chosen for their hardiness, including Gardenias, Roses, Iris, Hydrangea, Lily of the Valley, Cycads, Silver Spur Flower and Oyster Plant.
Attention was also given to the existing mature trees on site and, where possible, existing plants were stockpiled for transplanting in order to keep the original elegance of the home.
All the finishing on the work was a nod to the heritage of the property; sawn sandstone and second hand brick commons for the paving jointed with sand and cement, stainless steel wiring and edging for the gardens and lawn, and beautiful and timeless tallowwood for the feature seat.
The end result is a Mediterranean-style testament to a beautiful heritage home.
